Promoting DWCRA Women's Empowerment Under the Leadership of MLA Maddipati Venkataraju
Measures Taken to Ensure Financial Self-Reliance for DWCRA Women
ABD News: Aravindamma, the Velugu APM (Assistant Project Manager) for Dwarakatirumala Mandal, stated that measures are being implemented with the specific objective of fostering financial self-reliance among DWCRA women, in accordance with the directives of Maddipati Venkataraju, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Gopalapuram constituency. She noted that various programs are being executed with a dual focus: protecting the environment while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for women and working towards improving their standards of living.
She further informed that, with the support of T. Vijayalakshmi—the DRDA Project Officer for Eluru District—a 13-day training camp on jute bag manufacturing was organized for 30 DWCRA women in M. Nagulapalli village within Dwarakatirumala Mandal, under the aegis of the Union Bank Training Center. She added that steps are being taken to conduct similar training programs across all villages within the Mandal, with the aim of transforming these women into successful entrepreneurs.
She highlighted that, with the assistance of the MLA, a unit for the production of traditional snacks and savories was established for five DWCRA women in M. Nagulapalli village, involving an investment of ₹10 lakhs. Additionally, she explained that a jute bag manufacturing unit was set up in Narayanapuram Gram Panchayat, while two 'Millet Houses'—each valued at ₹1 lakh—were established in the villages of Kodigudem and Raghavapuram.
Finally, she mentioned that an 'Araku Coffee Shop' was established at a cost of ₹6 lakhs in Timmapuram village, located in the vicinity of the main road in Dwarakatirumala. It was announced that this coffee shop would soon be inaugurated by Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Maddipati Venkataraju.
It was stated that government schemes are being extended to rural women, and for those interested, training is being provided along with necessary financial assistance through the 'Velugu' department. On behalf of the Dwarakatirumala Mandal Federation, Community Coordinators (CCs), Community Activists (CAs), and DWCRA women, gratitude was expressed to MLA Maddipati Venkataraju and local Member of Parliament (MP) Daggubati Purandeswari for their support towards these initiatives.
